Evaluation Of The Canon 7d Vs 60D
My wife says I have enough cameras, and I guess she is right, but I still crave after the Canon EOS 60D released in 2010.
I had the chance to play with both a 60D and a 7D recently and they got my heart racing.
The difference between a DSLR and compact and other snappers is so huge they should not all be called ‘cameras’. So I will leave the snappers alone and compare these two only with other DSLR’s. null Of course both cameras had the usual feel of the precision Canon DSLR’s and I got the familiar rush at the sound of the lightning fast shutters, but this time I also experienced the thrill of the 5 FPS continuous shooting of the 7D. Playing with the 5 FPS of the 7D I imagined being an action photographer and loved it. The Dual DIGIC IV processor is spine-tingling! The Vari-angle screen of the Canon 60D is one of those features that I never thought I would need until I used it. Now I am a fan.
Looking at my shots later I could sort through and discard blinking people shots, found some nice action shots and a few series shots. None of them were worth keeping, but that was my fault. Above 12 MP it is hard to see the superior quality of 18 MP’s. I cannot honestly say that I can.
There are a lot of ‘experts’ who will tell you that Full Frame gives you more detail or less noise than APS-C. I think that is rubbish. The definition and noise differences can equally come from lenses, settings, photographer and lighting conditions.
I defy them to tell whether the shot was taken by a Full Frame sensor or APS-C.
Between the Canon 60D vs 7D, the 60D seems to be the better buy. The 60D sports later in-camera funcion with the movie function and the vari-angle LCD is a winner. Given also that it is roughly 30% less expensive, it is very competitive.
My wife would have too much to say if I came home with yet another DSLR, so for now all I can do is review the 7D vs 60d.
